Choosing a Sleeping Bag for Kids
Author: OutdoorFunWhen selecting a sleeping bag for your children, it’s important to ensure that it has the proper thermal rating. Often companies will market sleeping bags featuring well known cartoon characters that are warm enough for the living room floor but not suited for the outdoors. When camping with children, it’s important that they stay warm throughout the night, so be sure to check the thermal rating of a kids sleeping bag before you purchase it. Recognize that sleeping bags made by well known manufacturers of outdoor equipment are the most reliable, though they might not be flashy.
Hypothermia and frostbite can be real threats in the outdoors, so it’s important to make sure your children are warm and protected from the elements. If you’re not sure about the thermal rating of a particular kids sleeping bag, you can always purchase a goose down sleeping bag.
